We are constantly asking ourselves how we can do more and make a greater positive impact on the world around us. 

We are committed to sustainability and this drives us to push forward with our manufacturing materials, packaging & shipping logistics.  

THE CELLULOSE  ACETATE ADVANTAGE:

Cellulose acetate is a plant-based renewable material that comes from natural sources of cotton or wood pulp.

This makes it better for the environment over virgin plastics.

It is highly durable which means that it can withstand a high amount of physical stress while maintaining its shape, but also has great elasticity which allows adjustments to be made for the perfect fit. 

60% of all our sunglasses are made using cellulose acetate (up from 5% in 2016 when we first introduced this into our manufacturing process).

Our goal is to get this to 100%.

CARBON OFFSET SHIPPING:

We have partnered with EcoCart to offer carbon offset shipping.

This means we calculate the emissions cost of shipping your order and offer a practical way to offset this by funding renewable energy, forestry or clean water projects.

So far the Spitfire community has offset 42,765 lbs of carbon.

Our goal is to offset carbon emissions across our entire supply chain.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING:

All our sunglasses come in poly bags that are made up of 80% recycled materials.

We have redesigned our sunglass cases to eliminate metal and reduce plastic.

We have never used animal products in our cases and we never will.

All our packaging fill is made from 100% recycled materials or recyclable materials.

Our goal is to eliminate all plastic in our sunglass cases.
